Dave Gibbons, Comics Laureate to write foreword for our new graphic novel, Brighton’s Graphic War.

The book will utilise his specially designed font throughout, and his foreword offers a great insight into the artwork and tales depicted inside the book. Dave is a British comic book artist, writer and letterer. In 2014 he was appointed the UK’s first Comics Laureate, to act as an ambassador for comic books and their potential to improve literacy.

Best known for his collaborations with writer Alan Moore, which include ‘Watchmen’ (one of the best-selling graphic novels of all time), the Superman story For ‘The Man Who Has Everything’ and on ‘Kingsmen: Secret Service’ (with Mark Millar) and as artist for UK anthology ‘2000 AD’ for over 35 years.

Dave notes..

“This is exactly the sort of project we need to encourage young people to discover the joys of creating their own comics.”
