The Brighton & Hove Photographic Collection – Volumes I and II are a selection of images originally submitted by the public for QueenSpark’s online photographic collection (which has now been archived).
You’ll find images of lost Brighton landmarks, the piers and historic seaside, farewell to the Goldstone and the building of the Amex football stadium, JJ Waller’s collection of images taken around the closure of the Open Market; the late Leslie Whitcomb’s documents of Brighton past; and Peter Chrisp’s evocative photos of shops and people in the 1980s.
Featuring the quirky and funny, historic and contemporary, these books are a testament to the diverse people and history of the city.
