Since we formed in 1972 as a successful grassroots campaign against a planned casino in Queens Park, we’ve published over 110 books documenting the ‘People’s History’ of Brighton & Hove.

Our archive documents the changing face of the city from the early-20th century to the present day – from the ‘Poor Dispensary’ and slum housing, through two World Wars, and up to the creative development and cultural diversity that, for many, defines the city; our stories feature many of the people and places that make Brighton & Hove what it is today.

On Saturday 17th September, for the first time ever, you’ll be able to view and handle our entire archive of original books in one place. We’ll also be launching our new book ‘Telling Stories’ – a collection of new writing about the people and places that make the city what it is, alongside a selection of out-of-print extracts from our books.

Come along to the fantastic Regency Town House between 11.30-3.30pm on Saturday 17th September.

On the same day, we’ll be launching our new online archive (https://archive.queensparkbooks.org.uk) where for the first time you’ll be able to search and read the entire texts of all of the historic QueenSpark books prior to 2010.
