In November 2008 a large gathering got together for the launch of the Letter in the Attic Project at Community Base, here in Brighton.
This event was the culmination of a year of work by volunteers collecting and archiving letters, diaries of daily life, travel journals and war letters written centuries ago or in the last few years.
About the project By Jack Latimer
Got any letters or diaries in your attic?
In 2007-8, My Brighton and Hove and QueenSpark worked on an exciting new project to create an archive of personal unpublished papers collected from the residents of Brighton and Hove. The project was called Letter in the Attic and it aimed to show the historical value of everyday writings, such as letters and diaries.
