The publication of several anthologies during the late eighties and early nineties continued QueenSpark’s Books’ tradition of collaboration and group authorship.
A typical example is Paper on the Wind published in 1984. This had a strong feminist influence and contained both poetry and prose emanating from a women’s writing group (above) run by QueenSpark Books. Other examples are: Writers Reign (1991), the product of three QueenSpark Books women’s writing groups in Brighton & Hove.
Tales from the Sanctuary (1995) was an anthology of readings that were given at a QueenSpark Books performance evening at the Sanctuary cafe in Hove.
These publications set the scene for a remarkable series of books detailing the history of Brighton’s lost urban landscapes.
